Kurt Warner was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2017 after a 12-year career that saw him take two teams to Super Bowl appearances.
He went 67-49 as a starter in his career, and completed 2,666 of his 4,070 pass attempts, throwing for 208 touchdowns, with 128 passes intercepted.
But one writer is now wondering if Warner should have been inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Jeff Pearlman, a former sports writer for Sports Illustrated and author, questioned Warner's Hall of Fame credentials with a recent Twitter post.
His post simply showed Warner's career stats with the question: "How is Kurt Warner in the Hall?"

The post set off a firestorm of replies, with many people defending Warner's Hall inclusion.
Here are some of the replies:
Please. League MVP. Super Bowl MVP. Led two moribund franchises to Super Bowls.

Multiple MVPs, Super Bowl MVP, 3 super bowl appearances with all 3 the most prolific passes performances in the game’s history (until Brady’s last few), dozens of reg season records that stand today, can’t tell story of NFL without him. I could go on.

At the time he retired, the Rams as an organization had been to 3 total Super Bowls…Kurt was the QB for 2 of them
Arizona had only been to one SB
And Kurt was the QB of that one tooTwo organizations
Four total Super Bowls
And Kurt was the starting QB of 3 of themThat’s why

By being clearly qualified!

Once you've had BOTH a regular season MVP AND a Super Bowl MVP it's really hard to deny you the Hall of Fame. Kurt Warner had that in his first year as a starter. He then had another regular season MVP, led two more teams to Super Bowls and was chosen to three more Pro Bowls.

Is it the lack of counting stats that is what Jeff has an issue with? @kurt13warner started his playing career at age 28.. so yeah, they'll be lacking a bit there. It's a good showing of doing the most of the time you do have.

Took two moribund franchises to the Super Bowl, winning one; piled up gaudy stats despite making his first start at 28; led arguably the most memorable NFL offense in the last 40 years; revived his career in Arizona in his mid-30s. He deserves to be there.

Any QB that gets the Cardinals to the Superbowl goes in the hall.

1 of 9 players ever with 2 MVPs, 1 of 2 players ever to make it to the Super Bowl with 3 different head coaches, won a Super Bowl & was the games MVP, led the league in multiple of the most important passing statistics multiple years. He is incredibly deserving of a gold jacket

Some people also questioned Warner's Hall of Fame qualifications:
I have said for years it does not make sense to me. He had 2 great years with the rams and 2 good years with the cardinals, that’s it. And speaking of the rams, he had 4 hall of famers on his offense outside of him. And with the the cardinals he had 3. I just don’t get it
— Stephen Hemming (@CoachHemming) January 6, 2022
Two elite years and a great story does not a HOF QB make.
— Drewski (@AMurawa) January 6, 2022
He was definitely good but I’ve been saying for years he is overrated at least in terms of all time opinion of him. Trent Green who was also pretty good put up roughly the same DVOA when Warner was out and Warner never came close to his production from 99-01 in a super offense.
— Stat Magician (@StatMagician) January 6, 2022
He should be no where near the Hall. 4-5 good seasons.

Warner also responded to the tweet, saying that he was "going 2 keep the jacket, if that's cool!"
Haha, those ?s we ask that have multiple answers & those answers depend on lens u are looking through while answering! I have some thoughts, I understand both sides & I’ll be in back of the room while u debate, bc whatever the answer I’m going 2 keep the jacket, if that’s cool! https://t.co/evewHkJEzU

Not getting anyone - I’m just stating facts… I’ve asked myself the same question & have come up with multiple answers…
