Hall of Fame baseball players turned managers: Five best, five worst (2024)

Sixty-one players who were inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame have gone on to manage in the majors. But the transition isn't as easy as you think.

RedHawks manager Bobby Jones was drafted by the Washington Senators and played for Hall of Famer Ted Williams.

"He was so hard on the guys," Jones said. "He'd say, 'Why couldn't they hit the way I hit?'"
