Nameberry, which is the 'largest baby name site in the world,' is home to a database over more than 70,000 names.

In order to create the 2050 prediction list, the US-based site examined thousands of monikers to identify which had been given tofewer than 25 babies in 2020.

Pamela, 70, told Today: 'One guiding principle is that the next generation will choose baby names their parents didn't.'

And so, from that shortlist, the brand then picked out the names that provided a futuristic take to both the classic and popular themed names.

The outcome was two compelling lists of naming predictions for both boys and girls.

They showed that the top five boys' names for 2050 will likely be Albie, Barney, Clement, Cyprian and Elim.

For girls, it seems destined thatCosima,Dot,Iceland, Maude andMavi will all come out on top.

Pamela elaborated further on some the top names in a recent article for the publication.

Addressing some of the more unusual monikers for girls, she said of Franklin: 'James broke the gender barrier with this generation, the Presidential Franklin will do it next. And it's got that cute nickname Frankie.'

She also mentioned Lunarose because 'the Brits love combo names and we love the names the Brits love.'

Prairie was described as 'next gen cottagecore' and Willoughby made it onto the list because it is a 'gender-neutral surname that includes a subtle nod to nature.'

Turning her attention to the boys, the expert said that Florian was a 'flowery choice' that 'continues the trend toward softer names for boys.'

She said thatKanoa was a 'Hawaiian name with a laid-back beachy vibe, taking current favorites such as Kai and Kehlani several steps further.'

Pamela also believes that 'celestial names are rising in popularity and Jupiter could become more important for boys and girls too.'

The expert has three adult children of her own - who she named them Joe, Owen and Rory (left) - and her seven-year-old granddaughter (right) has the unique moniker of Plum

Nameberry's mission statement is: 'Find your type: Discover your major name type, create your unique naming profile and get thousands of names chosen personally for you.'

And, if 2050 currently seems too far away, the baby-name trends for 2024 are already futuristic-sounding enough.

For next year, the company predicts that there will be an increase in the trends of 'girl names for boys,' 'feminine feminist names,' 'atmospheric names,' 'natural glamour names' and even 'main character energy names.'

Some of the top examples in those categories include Io, Honey, Ice, Lyra and Nami.
