Der Freischütz is an Abnormality that appears in Lobotomy Corporation. His appearance resembles that of a shadowy humanoid figure, with glowing blue eyes and tendrils of smoke billowing out of the top of his head. He wears a dark grey coat and pants (the legs of which taper into a billowing mass of black smoke), as well as a black belt with a silver buckle and a navy blue cape with gold trim. In his hands, he carries a large rifle with a blue stock and a gray barrel, with a golden filigree around the chamber. His E.G.O. is known as Magic Bullet.

Behavior
Der Freischütz is one of the few abnormalities in the game with a specialized Work Type - in this case, they possess an option for “Request” Work, which takes the place of Attachment Work. When the Request option is selected, your screen will gain a dark blue tint and your in-game mouse cursor will become a glowing blue bullet icon - this is the targeting reticle for Der Freischütz’s bullet. With this reticle, you can click anywhere in your facility to mark the start point of the bullet’s firing path; once you do that, your screen will return to normal as Der Freischütz aims his rifle within his containment unit and fires. At the same time, a portal will open at the location in your facility you clicked on in the targeting screen, from which Der Freischütz‘s bullet will emerge and travel in a straight line from the left to right side of your screen, dealing Black damage to everything in its path - be it Ordeals, escaping Abnormalities, or unlucky employees caught in the crossfire.
This ability can be very useful in dealing with hostile entities within your facility, with the caveat that it requires careful management skills on the player's part in order to avoid excessive employee casualties. Before initiating a Request from Der Freischütz, it is recommended that you move all your nearby Agents out of the line of fire of its bullet by placing them all in a nearby elevator and having them move to another floor. In addition, it is also important to note that each Request costs 10% of your facility's current energy level every time it is used, and that it will decrease the abnormality's Qliphoth Counter by one for every seventh bullet fired. When Der Freischütz's Qliphoth Counter reaches zero, he will instead fire a bullet in a random location within your facility.

Managerial Tips
Managerial Guidelines 1: Requesting aid from Der Freischütz is permitted. Der Freischütz agreed to perform the request at the expense of 10% of our current energy.
Managerial Guidelines 2: However, the bullets that Der Freischütz fires can penetrate and damage anything. Furthermore, Der Freischütz’s 7th bullet will not fire where you desire, so you must plan ahead wisely.
Managerial Guidelines 3: The Qliphoth Counter lowered when [Agent], whose Justice was lower than Level 3, completed work with Der Freischütz.
Managerial Guidelines 4: When the work result was Normal, the Qliphoth Counter lowered with a normal probability.
Managerial Guidelines 5: When the work result was Bad, the Qliphoth Counter lowered with a high probability.
Managerial Guidelines 6: When the Qliphoth Counter hit 0, Der Freischütz willfully fired a bullet towards a random location.

Though the original's power couldn't be fully extracted, the magic this holds is still potent. The weapon's bullets travel across the corridor, along the horizon. |

0 | The Devil ultimately wished for despair. |
1 | For despair wears down the mind and drains one's will to go forward. When one feels there's nothing left to go for, their soul falls down to Hell, the Devil's domain. This is why the Devil finds it more entertaining to watch people fall to despair, rather than to simply kill them. We describe it as "selling one's soul to the Devil." |
2 | When a marksman received a gun from the Devil, the Devil proposed a childish contract: The last bullet would puncture the head of his beloved. The moment he heard that, he sought and shot all the people he loved. Then he told the Devil, "This magical bullet can truly hit anyone just like you say." With the last bullet gone for good, the hunter traveled to numerous worlds. Sometimes he helped those in need or fought evil, but it was all done on impulse, not a gesture of goodwill or ideals. In one world, he was called a righteous hunter, while in another, he was a bloodstained gunman. |
3 | One day, the marksman realized the Devil no longer followed him. He pondered why, then realized that his soul had already fallen to Hell from the beginning. The contract had already been fulfilled, so the Devil had left. |
4 | The marksman, now a devil himself, continues to pull the trigger to gather the souls of others. Just as the Devil said, the bullets will puncture anything you please. Forever. |
Flavour Text
- Der Freischütz does not remember anything positive, such as the sparks of love or the joy of doing a good deed. He only reacts to dying things.
- Long ago, Der Freischütz’s heart was pierced by the magic bullet, which always hits its mark.
- As with all pacts made with the Devil, Der Freischütz’s request will not end peacefully.
